JAS has been building and renovating homes since 2013, but our roots in St. Petersburg go back much further. Albert Jasuwan is a third generation St. Petersburg native. His business partner, Jeff Trosclair, has called it home for 20 years. This is where we’ve built our lives, raised our families, and put down roots.
For Jeff, the impact of flooding is deeply personal. Growing up in New Orleans, he watched his childhood home flood four times. He knew what came after the water receded: pulling out soaked carpet in the summer heat, sorting through ruined belongings, and starting over. Seeing his St. Petersburg neighbors face that same heartbreak brought it all back.
After Hurricane Ian, Jeff and Albert had a conversation that changed the direction of JAS. Jeff had seen house lifting help families in New Orleans preserve their homes and reduce their exposure to flooding. They wanted to bring that same opportunity to the community they loved.
Since then, JAS has elevated well over 100 homes. Each one represents a family with a future in the neighborhood they chose, and another piece of our community worth preserving.
These are our neighbors. This is our home, too.
