Unlike homes in other parts of the country, Florida slab homes are often built on thin concrete pads with rebar that’s been rusting for decades. These aging, compromised slabs require a completely different structural approach. That’s why we assume the concrete is non-reinforced and engineer accordingly — installing heavy-duty steel I-beams to distribute loads and prevent cracking under pressure. If someone tells you that’s unnecessary, they’re not thinking about the future integrity and safety of your home.
We also understand that Florida soils demand deep foundation systems. Erosion, groundwater, flooding, and even wave action can quickly undermine shallow foundations. We rely on proven, high-performance piling systems — like helicals, concrete, and treated timbers — to give our projects the structural resilience they need. While there are cheaper alternatives out there, they may not provide the long-term support your home needs to withstand Florida’s harshest conditions.
